My name is Desiree, and I’m reaching out for help after a devastating apartment fire that changed everything for my family. My daughter Lexi, my 6-year-old granddaughter, our beloved cats Gordo and Torta, and I were all in our apartment when the fire broke out. We had only minutes to escape, and while we made it out safely, Gordo was trapped inside for over two hours before firefighters rescued him. The fire not only displaced us, but also 13 other families in our building. Tragically, a neighbor’s dog did not survive, and our hearts go out to everyone affected.

We have lost all our security and all of our belongings. I’ve had to miss a week of work, and we are now faced with the overwhelming task of starting over from scratch. The funds raised here will help us with temporary housing, replacing essentials, and covering the costs of lost income as we try to rebuild our lives. Every bit of support and every prayer means the world to us right now.

Through it all, we have hope and faith in Jesus Christ. I am so grateful that our lives were spared, and I know it is by His grace that we are still here.
