Hi, my name is Desiree Greene, and I’m a 20-year-old Junior at Trinity College of Jacksonville. I’m studying Business with a specialization in Sports Management, and I’m also a member of the women’s college basketball team here at Trinity. However, my dream of continuing both my education and basketball career is currently on hold due to financial challenges, and I’m reaching out for help.

I transferred to Trinity from a private college in the Tampa area, where I was awarded an academic and leadership scholarship. Last year, I was told that this scholarship would cover the spring term of my sophomore year. Unfortunately, after significant leadership changes at my previous school, I was informed that they no longer had the funds to honor my scholarship, leaving me with a balance that I’m struggling to pay.

I’ve tried to work out a payment plan with my old school, hoping they would release my transcripts so that I could get academically and athletically cleared for my junior year. Unfortunately, they’ve told me that they won’t release my transcripts until the full balance is paid, which is currently around $7,000. Without this, I can’t continue my studies or play basketball for Trinity.

To make matters worse, I was recently involved in a hydroplane accident during a storm and totaled my car, which was my primary means of transportation to work. This has made it even harder for me to make the money I need to cover my balance. My mother works two jobs and still takes care of my two younger siblings, all while going to school herself. We are both doing everything we can to make ends meet, but we just can’t do this alone.

I’m asking for your support to help me reach my goal of $7,000 to pay off the balance and get my transcripts released. With your help, I’ll be able to finish my education, fulfill my childhood dream of playing college basketball, and stay on track to graduate with a degree in a field I am passionate about.
