Hi everyone! I am scheduled to be going to Brighton in the UK May 2024 to play two showcase slots at The Great Escape Festival and a 2 additional shows in the UK. The Great Escape is one I have wanted to attend for years now, so its very cool that its finally happening.
I've spent so much of my career traveling alone for financial reasons and it was absolutely not sustainable for my spirit and my overall health. I would come home depleted and depressed after giving so much on stage and in the studio. This trip I will be traveling with some of my favourite musicians: Alysha Brilla (https://www.instagram.com/alyshabrilla/) and Molly Es (https://www.instagram.com/mollyesplease/) and a love-filled tour manager Jules Tatone, to support us all. This means I am covering costs for 4 peoples flights, ground transportation, accommodation, professional fees, food and more. This is a very costly venture and unfortunately the funding I was hoping for did not come through so I will just be going deeper into debt.
Its been a long road on this musical path and putting every last cent back into my art only to be devoured by debt. Im really hoping that this opportunity to play in the UK could help me get my music out to more people, help me build a bigger team and to get me the support I need to continue supporting others!
This trip feels special because im bringing musicians who I connect with so deeply and who I feel so safe with. We make such beautiful music together and it will be my first time ever sharing this special trio with the world. When I harmonize with Alysha Brilla and Molly Es it feels like such medicine and I cant wait to spread that medicine far and wide!
As four queer individuals with different disabilities and intersecting identities, travelling for performances can often times be so hard on us emotionally and physically. However, when we come together to create and perform, we really get the opportunity to holistically support one another while doing what we do best- playing and creating music and spreading love! It not only allows us to share heartfelt music with you but also replenishes our own spirits. This symbiotic exchange makes our musical journey sustainable.
Scientific evidence confirms that singing together, especially in harmony, has therapeutic effects on the heart. As a donor to our fundraiser, you'll be the first to receive a live recording of our favourite performance post-tour, allowing you to experience the healing power of our music firsthand!
In a world weighed down by heaviness, we're grateful to create music that reminds people of life's beauty and encourages them to persevere. We invite you to be a part of this journey by supporting us. Thank you for considering joining us on this meaningful musical adventure.
