Help Support Desirae, Josiah, and Charlie After Serious Car Accident
Dear Family and Friends,
We are reaching out during a very difficult time to ask for your support after a tragic car accident that has left our loved ones injured and in need of assistance.
On Sunday, September 21st, Desirae was driving home from the Moreno Valley Mall with her 11-month-old son Josiah in the back seat. Her 4-year-old son Charlie was safely spending time with his grandparents. Less than a mile from home, on Saboba Road near the Saboba Country Club, a silver Hyundai lost control and collided with Desirae’s Honda CR-V, causing her vehicle to flip into a ditch.
Emergency responders rushed both Desirae and baby Josiah to Riverside University Medical Center, where they were both treated as trauma patients. By the grace of God, Josiah was released after 24 hours with only minor scrapes and bruises.
Desirae, however, sustained more serious injuries. She underwent major abdominal surgery, suffered a dislocated left ankle and a fractured right ankle, and was admitted to the ICU. After 48 hours, she was moved to the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and is now on a long road to recovery. Doctors have estimated that she will be out of work for a minimum of 5 months while she heals.
We are incredibly thankful that both Desirae and Josiah are alive, but the family now faces a number of unexpected challenges—both physically and financially. Their vehicle was totaled, and both strollers and car seats were destroyed in the crash. We are asking for help to:
• Replace both car seats and strollers for Josiah and Charlie
• Cover ongoing medical expenses for Desirae and Josiah
• Assist with living expenses while Desirae is unable to work
Any amount you are able to give will go directly to supporting this family through their recovery. We are grateful beyond words for your love, prayers, and generosity. Updates will be shared here as Desirae continues to heal.
With heartfelt thanks,
Luis Franco, and the rest of the Family
