Help Desai Family Honor Ashwin's Memory

My name is Sarika Desai, my father Ashwin Anantrai Desai passed away suddenly in his sleep on December 25th, 2024. My father was 62 years old, and his death was caused by his underlying heart condition. My father was an incredible man- he loved good food, travel, and his family.

We're looking for help with our costs related to my father's funeral and to support us in this moment of extreme change. Here are some of the costs that we are fundraising for.

Dad's funeral cost us $10,115

The wonderful Pandit (priest) who did dad's last rites cost us $1500 in total for 2 ceremonies.

My brother Sahil (who was living outside of the US at the time of my father's death) needs healthcare, which is $600 per month. My brother is currently searching for a job.

We are planning to bring dad's ashes to Goa, where his father's family is from and where his spiritual home is. The tickets have cost us $6000.

Additionally, my mother called an ambulance for my father when she found him without a pulse. Since dad was never admitted to the hospital (unbeknownst to us, dad had already passed) we are worried that our insurance will not cover this expense. We have not yet received the medical bill.
