Help DES Replace Stolen Guitars for Students
Donation protected
My name is Jason Altomare and I am trying to raise funds for Dublin Elementary Music program. This summer brought an unexpected and heartbreaking surprise to DES—25 of our guitars were stolen from the teaching space on the stage, leaving our music program with no 5th grade guitar unit. To make matters worse, the thieves left behind quite the mess, sticky otter pops all over the MPR and the stage, showing complete disregard for the space and our school. It’s the first time that anything has ever been stolen from DES and it’s deeply upsetting. These guitars were vital for our beloved fifth grade guitar unit, which we hope to continue. It would mean so much to the students and to DES. In response, the school is planning to empty one of the locking cabinets and store all valuable items securely next summer. Looking ahead, after the construction, the school will likely have a proper classroom space, rather than needing to teach on the stage. Thank you for your support and understanding—it truly makes all the difference.
Warmly,
DES staff, Ms. Jones-Heintz
