As most of you know, Derrick was involved in a motorcycle accident on May 24th. While slowing down to avoid animals on the right side of the road, another motorcyclist attempted to pass him from behind on the left, in a no passing zone, and unfortunately, they sideswiped Derrick. The force with which this motorcyclist hit Derrick nearly severed his left foot. He was flown to Presby where he immediately went into surgery in an attempt to save his foot, but the doctors were not able to do so. Thankfully and most importantly, due to the quick life-saving measures of a nearby individual and all of the medical professionals, Derrick is still with us and expected to make a full recovery. While the road ahead will be a difficult one, Derrick will undoubtedly amaze us all and work extra hard to be back to his crazy, loud, and funny self we all know and love!

I have created this GoFundMe in hopes that we can all support Derrick and his family during his recovery. Derrick will have many weeks of healing, and eventually, to be fitted for a prosthetic and learn how to navigate his new normal. The coming weeks will not only be physically and mentally taxing, but they will also be financially challenging. Derrick is and has been for many years the primary source of income. His job is seasonal and unfortunately, he will miss many weeks, even months, of work during the 2024 season. By donating, we can give Derrick and Tiffany some financial relief so they can focus on the needs of their family at this time.
