In June 2019, my life took a devastating turn when I was struck by necrotizing fasciitis, a life-threatening condition that nearly claimed my life. The aftermath was equally harrowing—I lost my job, my car, and my home. Since then, I've been surviving on Social Security disability income, which barely covers my basic needs.

Recently, the only vehicle I had, a cherished gift from my mom who can no longer drive due to dementia, suffered a catastrophic engine failure. I had a job offer that could have been a lifeline, but without reliable transportation, I can't accept it.

Repairing my old car would cost over $10,000, an amount I simply cannot afford. Friends and family have suggested that I invest in a more reliable vehicle instead.
