Help Derek start his journey in Stem Cell Therapy

Hi! My name is Megan Dahlstrom and I am starting this fundraiser for my husband Derek who currently suffers from Multiple Sclerosis. He was diagnosed with this disease in 2008. It began with a loss of vision in his right eye (optic neuritis) and a loss of feeling in his right finger tips. After years of living and coping with this disease, it has become more debilitating and very difficult for him to get around and stay active. He suffers from leg drop which makes it tough to keep up with our 3 young, busy and growing boys. If you know Derek, and even if you don’t, it’s important to know that our boys are his everything. At the young age of 38, it breaks his heart to not be able to run down the basketball court or football field with them. Derek is normally very high energy with the biggest heart of anyone I know. He would do anything for anybody, no questions asked and nothing expected in return. This has effected him enough that he has had many appointments and conversations with his local MS specialists and has done a ton of his own research. He has tried other treatments such as Capaxone injections and is currently on Ocrevus infusions but neither seem to be effective, the MS continues to progress. Derek recently came across another treatment called Stem Cell Therapy. After researching and speaking with doctors in Columbia, South America, we feel that the Stem Cell Therapy program at #BioXcellerator is the best option for Derek’s MS case. However, it is costly and the money is needed upfront before beginning the process. We appreciate you listening to just a little bit of Derek’s story.
