Hello:

First, I would like to thank you for your support and prayers. Let me introduce myself. My name is Carolyn and have been married to the love of my life, Derek, for 2 1/2 years. The last thing I expected was my 32-year-old husband to have a stroke. On August 8, 2024, Derek suffered a severe stroke and needed emergency brain surgery to save his life. By God's grace his surgery was a success however, he has lost mobility completely on his right side. Derek's surgery saved his life however, the quality of life he once had is no longer. He is now in rehab and in the next month he will have to undergo another brain surgery to repair his skull. He will continue with PT and doctors' appointments once he is released to return home.

I have not been able to work in months, so we are currently living off of his temporary short-term disability from his employer and our savings.

Derek and I are new homeowners and have three rescue pets. I've been working tirelessly to prepare for a long await return home. Unfortunately, the bills have become unmanageable, and I am still in need of essential items to make Derek's hurdles easier.
