A new hybrid studio for film, fashion, and media.

I’m Darek Dylo—writer, director, and founder of Black Boots NYC. After years of making independent films and building momentum on the festival circuit, I’m launching Black Boots to create a new kind of creative engine: one that blends cinema, fashion, philosophy, and media into a unified, independent platform.

What We’re Doing

We’re raising $80,000 to formally launch Black Boots NYC and kick off our first major productions. Your support will help us:

Produce three cinematic short films: Dinner Eclipse, Mustang Mom, and Hell No.
Develop the infrastructure of Black Boots as a fully operational studio.
Roll out our first capsule clothing collection and coffee table magazine.
Expand our media platform with interviews, discussions, and artist features.
Host community screening events and build our creative network.

Every dollar goes toward building Black Boots into a sustainable, community-rooted space for independent art.

Our Big Picture

These three films are just the beginning.

Our ultimate goal is to expand into larger feature films—starting with Black Boots, a feature currently in development that will require additional funding and potential studio backing.

Three potential projects are outlined:

Dinner Eclipse: a bizarre and tense dinner party in a warehouse ($8k budget).
Mustang Mom: offering a fashion integration opportunity with a breakout star on a press tour ($20-30k budget).
Hell No: a deadly game of musical chairs exposing social issues ($12-14k budget). Links to presentations for each are provided.

Why This Matters:

After years of making films and gaining attention in the festival circuit, I realized there’s a cultural hunger for something deeper: stories that challenge, visuals that stay with you, and a studio that isn’t run by corporations but by artists.
