Help Deran Recover from a Chest Tumor
Donation protected
My name is Andrew Dunlap. I’m a veterinarian and a recent graduate currently completing a rotating internship.
A few months ago, I adopted two retired feline blood donors—Deran and his bonded brother, Craig—from the hospital where I work. These cats spent the first two years of their life helping save other animals. I brought them home to give them a loving life in return.
Last week, Deran was diagnosed with a large mass in his chest—a thymoma. This tumor affects his ability to breathe comfortably. His team of veterinary specialists recommends surgery to remove it. Fortunately, surgery offers an excellent chance of a full recovery.
The procedure, including surgery, hospitalization, and follow-up care, will cost approximately $16,500. Unfortunately, Deran’s insurance won’t cover the cost, since he’s still in the waiting period.
As a new graduate and current intern, I’m unable to cover this expense on my own. I’ve explored all available options, and this surgery is his best chance. I’m doing everything I can to advocate for him and make this treatment possible.
I’m asking for help to fund Deran’s care. I will use 100% of the funds raised to cover his medical expenses.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Your support—whether through a donation or by sharing this campaign—means a great deal to me.
