Hey y’all, I’m Denym. I’m a Black trans man and part of the ballroom scene — a space that’s taught me survival, softness, and how to move like I belong even when the world tells me I don’t.
I’ve known who I was since I was a kid — 11 years old, chest tight, voice stuck, wishing my body matched what I knew deep down. I didn’t have the language for “trans” back then, I just knew I wanted out of the body I was put in.
I’m still that boy, but grown. I’ve been binding for years, navigating dysphoria, finding safety where I could — in community, in performance, in the mirror on good days. But I’m ready for more than just surviving in this skin. I’m ready to live in it.
This fund is to help me finally start hormone therapy and get top surgery. The NHS waitlist is years long, and I can’t wait that long. I’ve waited my whole life already.
What the money will cover:
• Private HRT (consultations, bloodwork, and prescriptions)
• Top surgery (consult, surgery, post-op care)
• Travel + recovery expenses
• Scar care, binders, and mental health support through the process
Ballroom taught me that your body can be a runway, a weapon, a home. I want mine to be something I can walk in without fear or pain. I want to breathe. I want to exhale without binding. I want to see my chest and not flinch. I want to be free.
Anything you give — £5, £50, a share, a prayer — it brings me closer to that freedom. Thank you for helping me come home to myself.
With love & realness,
Denym
