A friend is helping another friend in need to set up this fundraiser for Mr. Denny MedicineBird.

On Friday night (3/27/2026), Mr. MedicineBird was involved in a serious crash caused by a high-speed police chase — something completely beyond his control. One moment he was going about his day, and the next, he was hit at high impact and everything turned chaotic.

He was literally stuck in his vehicle after the crash as the suspect and police engaged in a shootout nearby. In that moment, there was nothing he could do but sit there and pray he wasn’t hit, hurt, or even killed. It was one of the most intense and terrifying situations anyone could experience.

He was not at fault — just an innocent bystander caught in a tragic and unforeseen event.

Thankfully, Mr. MedicineBird is alive. However, he is now recovering from a concussion, whiplash, and limited movement on his left side. His vehicle was totaled, and he is now facing the difficult reality of recovering physically, emotionally, and financially.

Beyond the immediate damage, there are many unknowns ahead — ongoing medical care, follow-up appointments, transportation challenges, time away from work, and the financial strain that comes with it all. These are burdens no one plans for, especially from something so sudden and beyond their control.

Mr. MedicineBird currently works in public health and helps bring funding for health initiatives to tribal communities and tribal health systems. He has spent his career supporting others and building stronger, healthier communities. Now, he is asking the community — and beyond — for help that is much needed to get through this crisis.

Right now, he is in dire need of help, support, and prayers to begin rebuilding his life after this tragic and horrible accident.

This fundraiser will help cover:

• Vehicle replacement after total loss

• Medical bills, evaluations, and recovery care

• Temporary transportation and daily living expenses

• Lost income and ongoing financial strain
