Help Dennis Winters family

On February 21, 2023, Dennis was admitted to the ER because he couldn’t breathe properly and his whole body was in severe pain….. in the ER they immediately put him on oxygen, and they realized that he had severe sepsis, so they had to put him on a ventilator…. as they were putting the ventilator in, his heart, stop for three minutes and they had to administer CPR. They eventually got his heart beating again, and they rushed him up to the ICU. Once he was in ICU, he had to be put on three different blood pressure medication’s, along with anabiotic’s, and a number of different kinds of medication’s to keep him alive. He was severely sick. The doctor did not think that he was going to make it. About a week into him being on a ventilator the blood pressure medication started to cut off the circulations to his lower extremities to his feet, and his feet started to die off…one point he was so so severely sick they asked me whether I wanted to pull the plug or to put him on dialysis. They had to shock his heart 3 times because it was beating so hard…I told them that they should put him on dialysis and we had to wait to see if the sepsis would go away. He got so bad that they just didn’t think he was going to make it..but he fought through and he made it…another week went by and he slowly started to make improvements…. He was able to get the ventilator off and he woke up. It was a pure miracle that he was awake, but his feet continued to die off and eventually the doctors decided that they had to amputate at the knee so now Dennis is without his legs and he is going to be going to recovery he has to go to Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. He also lost the ability to speak from having the tube in his throat for so long so he has to go to Speech Therapy as well. We’re praying that his speech will come back. Now Dennis has to go to a rehabilitation facility…here in the next few days as they are trying to find a suitable one for him to go to…He’ll be in rehab for three months at least … while he is there i will be getting the house prepared for him to come home. He’ll be in a wheelchair for at least 8 months, while his legs heal enough for prosthetics. Once he gets fitted for prosthetics he’ll have to learn to walk all over again. We’ll need so many things to prepare Dennis for when he comes home…We just really need help with preparing the house for him to live with his wheelchair and we also need help with getting a minivan that we can put his wheelchair in…This is a long road to recovery and any extra help would be amazing. This has been a really hard crazy life-changing moment in time for all of us and we do appreciate the support and love and prayers that everyone has been given to us and to Dennis and we wanted to thank you for all the love and support…Thank you for any help you can give to us and bless you. Dennis has learned to have faith all over again, so god bless. God is good. We love you all. Thank you for everything…If you can’t donate we totally understand and if you feel like sharing instead we would be much appreciated… thank you so very kindly…
