We are Avi and Leslie Forstein; we are coming to you for help with our sweet kitty, Dennis Hopper
We met Dennis through our friends, Chelsea and Zach Smith. They volunteer with a local cat rescue called Crash’s Landing. We wanted another cat, and Dennis was perfect! He immediately warmed to us, and us to him! We have had him for just over three years now, and he is the most wonderful cat!
He had a rough start in life! He was feral, and when the rescue found him, he had several injuries. They believe he got caught in something, and ripped out his tail to free himself. As a result, he has a stub for a tail and nerve damage that affected how he walks (they call him Dennis Hopper because he hops when he runs!). He loves cuddling with Dad, toys with feathers, going outside, etc. He has a very sweet, loving, chill personality and we adore him!
A little over a week ago, we stated noticing he was trying to use the restroom a lot, walking with more of a wobble than normal, sitting funny-just not acting right in general. The vet found his bladder was enlarged and he had an obstruction in his urethra, with crystals in his bladder and an infection. He spent a few days at the vet, getting IV fluids, antibiotics, etc. Now he is back home.
We are asking for 400 people to donate $10 each; unfortunately, money is tight right now and we are unable to afford the cost of his care. Avi is a type 2 diabetic and had a below-the-knee amputation just over a year ago, and Leslie is type 1 diabetic and relies on an insulin pump to regulate her blood sugar, among other conditions. Between the hospital and medical supply bills, along with regular bills, have put a strain on our budget, so we are asking for your help!
The money you give to Dennis will be used for his medical bills as well as the special food he will now need to eat.
Part of the reason we are paying for all of Dennis’s urgent care is because In May, we lost our first kitty, Marshmallow. It was devastating, and we want to do everything we can to keep Dennis healthy and happy and around for a long time to come!
