Help Denis's Family After Tragic Loss
Donation protected
By now, most everyone is aware of the passing of our Dad, Denis. There has been an outpouring of love and kind words. I cannot thank everyone enough for reaching out and checking in. Dad touched so many lives. Nothing will ever make his loss okay. I am staying relatively quiet on most details because it is still an ongoing investigation. He was shot, with his own gun, at his home. I believe the correct individual is currently locked up awaiting further charges.
Dad’s sister and her daughter flew out almost immediately. They tried to do everything they could and waited for the scene to be cleared. In the beginning, we were not even informed of the circumstances leading to his death. Once the property was cleared, we learned there was a whole new hurdle. The house and surrounding yard are absolutely destroyed. It’s taken us days of many people clearing things from the house, and we’ve barely made a dent.
Today, we released Dad from the medical examiner. He’s on to the next step of this journey. Thankfully, I currently have arrangements to have him picked up, but not brought home until April. We learned about a victims advocacy group, and we’re hopeful they may cover some of the cremation cost. But we are still jumping through hoops to try to bring his Harley home. Multiple plans have fallen through so far. I’m down to my last few options. Most cost $2000-$3000. We have had a generous donation that has helped greatly with other costs that have accrued throughout this trip.
Christine and I need to get back home so we can work through the grieving process. I’m trying to put most feelings on hold until I can get home, and my babies miss me, too.
So we are asking for help from this expansive village of people Dad has collected over the years. Between bands, bars, and biker clubs. Even just hanging in the basement. Please help us bring Dad and his bike home, to Maine, where they belong.
