Last year, I suffered an injury that led to a failed knee surgery. Since then, I have been limping and often in excruciating pain, sometimes needing crutches—even while working as a nurse. I’ve spent months researching every option, but the surgery I need is not covered by insurance because it’s considered experimental, despite being FDA approved. If you know me, you know I’m usually very active and love playing sports, hiking, water sports, gardening, and walking my dog. For the past year, I haven’t been able to do any of those things. My surgery is scheduled for June 4th at the hospital where I work, but the out-of-pocket cost is overwhelming. I desperately need to be able to walk again, return to work, and hopefully start enjoying life once more. This injury has been devastating, and as a widow and sole provider for my children, I find myself needing to ask for help. Any donation will go directly toward my hospital bill and will help me get back to work and thriving again. I am a caregiver at work and at home, so being able to function physically is essential for me and my family. One thing I love about my job is the opportunity to care for my community when they are facing the toughest times in their lives. I am genuinely grateful for the wonderful community I live in, and for my friends and family who have always been supportive. I appreciate everyone in my life and am thankful for the chance to give back to my community as well. Your support means the world to me, and anything you can contribute will help me regain my health and continue caring for others.
