Hello, I am Liz Peverall, a member of the South Toe community in Yancey County, NC. I am raising funds for my beautician and friend Denise Farrell, a native of South Toe, whose Burnsville Salon and equipment were flooded by Hurricane Helene and are now unusable. Thankfully, she is hoping to open her salon back up right here in the South Toe Valley on Rt 80. It will be right next to the produce stand and nursery she and her husband David run, near South Toe Elementary School.

I would like us to help her do this so that we can help a wonderful beautician keep her own small business right here and to support our local economy especially after so many losses during Helene. In fact, Denise did not even want to ask for any help until I pointed out that helping our local small businesses will help all of us.

Denise herself has helped so many since Helene, spending many hours picking up donations of supplies and feed for livestock that farmers could pick up locally.

To open her salon here in South Toe, she will need to cover the cost of purchasing and finishing a small modular building for the salon, including insulating it and installing plumbing and electrical work. In addition, she needs to replace her salon chairs and equipment. The total estimate is $15,000. Any help you can provide is much appreciated
