My name is Denise, and I’m a single mom doing my best to care for my two boys. Recently, I faced an unexpected setback that has turned our lives upside down. Two years ago,  a vehicle that was still registered in my name. I only found out recently that the car was involved in an accident, and because it was still under my name, I’m being held responsible for damages to a city light pole. The city is willing to settle for a reduced amount because they know I wasn’t at fault and the car was stolen.

Until I resolve this, my own vehicle registration is suspended. I can’t renew my registration, and without it, I can’t drive to work, pay my rent, or cover our basic expenses. This has left me unable to provide for my boys, and with the holidays here, I worry about how I’ll keep a roof over our heads and bring any joy to my children this Christmas.

If anyone can relate to my message as a single mom caring for two boys, I hope you’ll consider helping. I don’t ask for much and work hard to provide for my kids.
