Hi, my name is Dylan, and I’m creating this GoFundMe for my incredible mom, Denise Albronda.

Earlier this year, our world was turned upside down. What my mom thought was just a stubborn upper respiratory infection turned out to be something far more serious. After a trip to urgent care and worsening symptoms, she was admitted to the hospital—where we received the devastating diagnosis: stage 3 lung cancer.

Since then, she’s been in and out of the hospital for weeks at a time, with dangerously low oxygen levels and a long road of treatment ahead. She’s completed two grueling rounds of chemotherapy and is now beginning immunotherapy. She’s a fighter—always has been—and she’s doing everything she can to beat this disease.

Thankfully, insurance has covered a large portion of her medical care, but the out-of-pocket costs are still crushing, and they’re only going to grow. Denise has also exhausted all of her paid time off from work and currently has no income to support herself through this next chapter of her treatment. That’s why I’m reaching out now—to ask for help for someone who has never asked for anything in her life.

My mom raised my sister and me as a single parent. She worked tirelessly, juggling multiple jobs to keep food on our table, clothes on our backs, and love in our home. She would go to her day job, pick us up from school, head straight to her night shift, and still come home to take care of us like we were the only thing that mattered. She is the most selfless, hardworking person I’ve ever known.

If you’ve ever met her, you know she has a heart of gold. She’s spent her entire life caring for others, especially during her years working in nursing homes. I still remember going to work with her and seeing how the residents’ faces would light up just from being around her. She has a gift for making people feel loved and seen, and she’s given that gift freely to everyone around her.

Now she needs us. She deserves to focus on healing without the stress of mounting bills and the fear of losing everything she’s worked so hard for. I’m asking from the deepest part of my heart—if you can help in any way, whether it’s through a donation or simply sharing this page, please do.
