Dena needs a home for Christmas

My name is Lisa, and I am reaching out on behalf of my mom, Dena. Due to back to back hospital stays, a decline in her health, and the resulting financial strain, Dena was evicted from her home resulting in homelessness. At 75 years old, she is no longer able to care for herself and urgently needs to be placed in an assisted living facility. I her only child and her two loving grand daughters are doing everything we can, but our resources are limited.

Emotionally and financially we are strained, taking time off work to give all our aid and even taking out our savings to get through this.

The eviction has shed light on deeper issues and us girls are now taking charge in cleaning out Dena’s hoarded and soiled apartment, taking responsibility of her debt, and homing her cat who is now in the loving safe care of her granddaughters.

The funds raised through this go fund me will go directly toward the initial costs of securing a spot for Dena in an assisted living facility. This includes the facility fee, first month's rent, and the necessary furnishings to make her new one-bedroom space comfortable and welcoming. Your support will help Dena transition from the hospital to a safe environment where she can receive the care and dignity she deserves.

Any help that we can get during this extremely difficult time would mean the world to us. My mom has never been homeless before she has always been the one to care for others, and now she needs a community to care for her.
