Help Den and Family Through Crisis

Donation protected
Den Barger was always a good, kind-hearted man and a very smart one! He’s a father of 2 and is married to Devon Hull. He’s always doing something and keeping busy whether it was doing his side work for fun or working full-time at Mount Nittany for 20 plus years. If his friends or family needed anything, he was always there to help out.

Around 2 years ago, his whole life changed. He started having trouble with his eyes, seeing black spots. He eventually found out he had cancer in his eyes so they started treatments. Then it spread to the spinal fluid and then it went into the brain. They went to different places for many treatments, mostly in Philadelphia starting out. At the end of the treatments, things seemed to get worse. He was pretty much at his end, Philadelphia had told them.

His wife decided to call around because she was not about to give up on him. He ended up down in New York City at the Sloan Kettering hospital where he went through more cancer treatments. Then after months of those, he ended up in remission and they were able to do a brain stem cell transplant, hoping the cancer didn't come back. He came home for about 2 weeks until he ended up in the hospital once again with double pneumonia and a really bad infection. Right now, he is hooked up to the ventilator and not even sure what the outcome of that's going to be.

Den was always a very private person when it came to his problems and never ever would ask for any help at all. His wife works at Mount Nittany and she's been by his side through this whole thing and if it wasn't for her, I don't think he would be around and she also never wanted to ask anyone for help. Now that he's back in the hospital, he is down at New York once again and they told his wife she could not leave down there at all, leaving her to pay for hotels, medical bills, food, gas, etc…. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
