As some of you may know, my brother/athlete Demitri Lyman was competing in the same tournament here in Bangkok, Thailand, representing Team USA at The Amazing Muay Thai Festival.

Yesterday, while competing in his first match of the competition, he suffered a broken jaw caused by a head kick in freak accident. During an exchange of strikes, his opponent threw a head kick at the same time as Demitri was throwing his own kick but his opponents kick caught him in his jaw while he was still breathing out. This is the moment his jaw was fractured. He still managed to finish the round successfully before walking to our corner only to tell us, "he broke his jaw." We immediately rushed him to the Emergency Room at the Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital.

He is currently checked into the Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital where he has gone through a 4-hour intensive surgery to wire his jaw shut. He will be there for a number of days after recovering before he flies back to the states.

Through all of this, Demitri is managing to stay positive and look at the silver lining through it all.

I am asking for donations to help Demitri and his mom pay for the medical bills and expenses which totaled $7500.
