Demario Smith is a dedicated boxer from Atlanta who has been training hard for the past four years. In his very first year competing in the elite men’s open division, Demario finished 3rd at the National Golden Gloves, became a semifinalist at the National Open, and reached the quarterfinals at the U.S. Championships. His hard work and determination have earned him a national ranking—he’s currently ranked 9th in his weight class of 143 lbs. Demario’s dream is to make the 2028 Olympic Team and represent his city and country on the world stage.

To keep his Olympic hopes alive, Demario must attend three major tournaments this year. Each of these events is crucial for his qualification, but the costs add up quickly. While Demario works full time as a cook at Top Golf and trains every day, the expenses for travel, tournament and entry fees, and equipment are more than he can manage alone. He’s shown incredible dedication and resilience, but now he needs a little help from his community to take the next step.
