One year ago, my life changed forever. I was at a candlelight vigil in Detroit, taking pictures for a close friend, when a drive-by shooting left me shot in the neck. The injury caused a spinal cord injury at the C-7 level, and since then, I have been paralyzed from the waist down. Adjusting to life as a wheelchair user has brought many challenges, both physically and emotionally. Everyday tasks are now much harder, and the medical expenses have quickly become overwhelming.
Currently, I live in a second-floor apartment with no elevator, making it extremely difficult to get in and out of my home. I am raising funds to help cover the costs of moving to a more accessible living situation, as well as to afford the medical equipment and supplies I need to maintain my health and independence. I also want to pay it forward by donating a portion of what I raise to others who are living with spinal cord injuries, because I know firsthand how tough this journey can be.
Your support would mean the world to me as I work to rebuild my life and help others facing similar challenges. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering a donation—every bit of help brings hope and makes a real difference.
