Dear Family, Friends, and Compassionate Strangers,

My name is Andrey Yegin, and today I write with a heart full of both sorrow and faith on behalf of my beloved 14-year-old nephew, Demid “Dema” Zotov.

On June 23, 2025, in what began as a carefree day of play, Dema’s world—and the world of his entire family—was forever changed. While exploring an old, abandoned building with friends, Dema suffered a catastrophic accident. He was electrocuted twice by a surge of 10,000 volts. The unimaginable happened in a matter of seconds.

But God, in His mercy, spared Dema’s life.

When first responders arrived, he was still breathing—a miracle in itself. Doctors fought relentlessly to stabilize him. Due to the critical nature of his injuries, he was quickly transferred to a specialized children’s hospital hundreds of miles from home.

The damage was devastating. Dema sustained severe burns and, in a life-saving decision, his leg was amputated up to the pelvis. This vibrant, active boy who once loved riding his scooter, his BMX bike, and spending time outdoors, now faces a long road of recovery, pain management, rehabilitation, and eventually, prosthetics.

In the midst of this crisis, the Zotov family is doing everything they can to stay strong. Dema’s father had to relocate nearly 700 miles away to be by his son’s side—offering every ounce of strength, love, and support he can muster—while his mother remains at home, caring for their two daughters.

They are a loving, close-knit family with four children, united in faith and determined to fight through this. But right now, they need your help.

The financial strain of this tragedy is overwhelming. From basic living expenses and travel to the extensive costs of Dema’s rehabilitation and future prosthetic needs, the burden is heavy.
