This is Delta (her name at the shelter is "Ethil" but we call her Delta to represent the symbol for the positive change we hope to help her find.)

She is a brave and loving German Shepherd who has already endured more pain than any dog should. She was abandoned, shot twice, and left to die before being rescued by a shelter that wants the best for her but does not have the resources needed to get her the medical care she needs. We brought her into our home to foster her and work to raise the funds needed to have surgery with a veterinarian who specializes in Orthopedics.

Right now, Delta struggles with every step. The bullet lodged in her left humerus causes constant pain and weakness, making it difficult for her to walk, play, or even rest comfortably. Despite everything she’s been through, she is still full of love and seems to have a will to survive that has surprised us every day since we began fostering her. 

That said, we know that without the necessary procedures, she will be limited in her mobility, unable to run freely or enjoy the simple joys of being a dog.

With surgery, Delta will finally have a real chance at a happy, pain-free life. This procedure could save her leg and allow her to walk, play, and enjoy life like any other dog. Even if amputation becomes necessary, she will no longer suffer from the painful, damaged limb.
