For more than 22 years, I devoted my life to caring for my quadriplegic mother. During those years, caregiving was not just something I did — it became my entire world. I stepped away from my own career, my financial future, and many opportunities in order to be there for her every single day. After losing my mother, I continued working as a caregiver because helping people is what I know and love. But caregiving work is often unstable. Patients pass away, family situations change, or hours suddenly disappear, leaving caregivers struggling to survive financially despite working exhausting hours.
Right now, I am facing one more major setback. My vehicle — the only transportation I have to continue working — needs a transmission replacement. I cannot afford another vehicle, and I cannot afford to lose the one I have. Between debt, overdue property taxes, home repairs, and years of financial hardship after caregiving without real income, I am overwhelmed trying to keep my head above water. I am trying to rebuild my life and create stability for the future. My dream is to attend nursing school and earn my LPN license so I can finally have steady, dependable work helping others.
I have never been afraid of hard work. I simply need a chance to move forward. Any support, prayers, donations, or even sharing my story would mean more than words can express. I am doing everything I can to stand back up and build a life before it is too late. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my story and for caring.
