Dellie is someone who truly embodies the spirit of giving, even when life has been incredibly tough.

We met Dellie in Appalachian, Kentucky – in one of the poorest counties in America – while making a video. We spent a day with him, and during that period, he quietly shared that ever since his car broke down, he has to walk 11 miles just to get to the grocery store. Dellie works as a landscaper and roofer, but jobs have become scarce in his area and he’s been living in a friend’s chicken coop while trying to save up for a car. Despite these challenges, Dellie continues to volunteer at his church and spends his time giving away food at the local food bank, always putting others before himself.

Having a car would be life-changing for Dellie. It would mean he could get groceries without the exhausting walk, have a real chance at finding a job in town, and continue his incredible work supporting his church and community. Dellie’s positivity and determination to help others, even in the face of hardship, is truly inspiring.
