My wife and I were visiting Nepal during the recent flood. We're now planning on staying in the country to try and help with the relief efforts. We're teaming up with a local Nepali woman-owned and operated non-profit, Girls Empowered by Travel (GET), to deliver needed supplies to the families affected.

GET isn't accepting or dispersing money, so only needed supplies are sent, with a focus on mothers and children. So since we are here, we can use funds from you to buy supplies that either my wife and I or GET will deliver directly to the families. Things like tarps, solar charging banks, food, clothing, feminine products etc.

Since the roads in and out of the flooded region are destroyed, the only real way for survivors to reach shelter is a 7-10 day hike over the Himalayas to Kathmandu. So right now there are thousands of Nepalese making that journey. GET has a supply run scheduled for this Thursday to that trail, with more runs in the following days. While the government is still focused on rescue operations, we can really help out some of these families.

Alternatively, there's the 'Prime Minister Fund,' which is a very good place for your donations to go. This will help more with the rebuilding phase rather than the relief phase.
