This is Delilah.  She's 1 1/2 years old.  She will have heart surgery on Friday to repair a hole in her heart chamber, a condition called ASV.  She also suffers from asthma, sleep apnea and is delayed developmentally. 

I met her father, Andrew, when he assisted with the tow at the scene of my children's automobile accident.  My boys have since run into him while mowing lawns in the Lakewood Heights neighborhood and chatted with him.  So when my son's truck broke down on the West Lake Houston bridge and we had waited 2.5 hours for roadside assistance, I called Andrew to see if he could assist us.  He could not, but he made 7 phone calls and found someone who could.  During our chat, while help was on the way, he shared with me about Delilah.  And then he told me that they were seriously behind on their mortgage due to Covid-related illness and job loss.  He asked me to pray for Deliliah and he thanked me for calling him.  

I went to bed praying for Delilah and woke up thinking that I could do more.  Andrew and his wife, Martha and their 2 1/2 year old, Penelope, reside in Lakewood Heights and have lived in Huffman for 5 years.   My family and I have been here just shy of 2.  I have seen the community rally around families in need, and I have personally supported multiple campaigns to raise funds.  It is my sincere hope that the Huffman community will once again do the same and rally around this family, in an effort to catch them up on their mortage, as they only have 60 days to come up with the funds and stop foreclosure proceedings.  

Having a sick child is more than enough to worry about.  Losing a home would be catastrophic to Delilah and her family.  Please join me in helping Delilah's family keep their home.  And please pray for Delilah and her medical team as they operate on Friday.
