Help Delilah During Her Leukemia Battle

Donation protected

When tragedy strikes, we turn to our family, friends, loved ones, and community for help and support.

Our sweet little Delilah Blue Hughes, an adorable, spunky, sweet, fun loving 2 year old, started feeling ill recently. She had very low energy, she looked pale, and she would often say "ow". Being only 2 years old, she could not communicate to her parents how she was feeling. Her parents Daryl & Hailey took her to see the Dr. on 12/7/21 thinking that she might have an ear infection. They had 4 tubes of blood drawn that evening. The next morning they received a phone call telling them to bring Delilah to Kaiser ER right away. Once they were in the ER Daryl & Hailey realized how serious the situation was with nurses and doctors hurrying around Delilah using the word critical (any parents worst nightmare). They were told that Delilah needed a blood transfusion and they were going to take her to Kaiser Children's Hospital in Oakland via ambulance.

Once they arrived at the Children's hospital, Delilah had a 3 hour blood transfusion and her parents learned that her white blood cell count was extremely low. The Hematologist came in and delivered earth shattering news. She told them that Delilah has a bone marrow biopsy scheduled for the next morning and they are pretty confident she has Leukemia, but it is usually very treatable.

Later that day they learned that their sweet little baby girl was going to need to start Chemotherapy the next day on 12/9 and her battle with cancer will last 2+ years.

Right now Daryl and Hailey are absolutely heart broken for their baby girl and are trying to do the best that they can. Their lives just took a devastating turn that was completely unexpected. Daryl, Hailey, Delilah, and Henry (Delilah's 4 year old brother) are the most loving family and an asset to their community.

Many hospital visits, overnight stays, treatment, healing, and recovery lie ahead for them. We are asking with great humility and gratitude that you find it in your heart to help this beautiful family during a very difficult time. $25 can help pay for gas. $50 can help with a copay. $100 can help pay their rent. $200 can help pay for a weeks worth of groceries. Every dollar will count towards relieving Daryl and Hailey of their financial stress. With your help, Daryl & Hailey will be able to spend less time worrying about money and more time taking care of their beautiful little girl who needs her parents by her side now more than ever.

Please keep Delilah and her family in your prayers and positive thoughts during this very difficult time. Thank you so much!
