Help Delia Ortiz's Family with Funeral Costs

I am raising funds to help Delia Ortiz who was a dedicated mother and a hardworking employee at NCH Hospital in Naples, Florida, where she worked as a cashier in the cafeteria. Delia has always been someone who takes pride in her work and never asked for help, but now she needs our support more than ever.

In February 2023, Delia’s life took an unexpected turn when she experienced excruciating pain in her back after lifting a simple pan. She sought medical help, underwent an MRI, and her initial diagnosis suggested a cyst or fracture. Months of enduring this persistent pain while continuing to work took a toll on her health, both physically and emotionally.

Delia’s journey took an even more devastating turn in September 2023 when a neurosurgeon discovered something alarming during a follow-up MRI. It was the shocking revelation that she had stage 4 bone cancer. This diagnosis was a heavy blow to Delia and her family.

Delia, a mother of two, was left without insurance during this critical time. She diligently worked to secure insurance coverage and began radiation treatment at the Cancer Center in Naples. She was constantly visiting Moffit Hospital receiving more tests to see what the extent of the cancer was and to get clear on what the next course of action was. In the meantime, she had blood clots in her lungs and pneumonia. Delia underwent surgery on her hip bone and she was left unable to walk for months.

Delia was a strong woman who had faced tragedies in her life, losing her parents at a young age and being raised by her older sister. She had always been a pillar of strength, and she fought an insurmountable battle with her health. Her pain was unbearable. She fought this battle with remarkable strength and resilience.
