Hi!
My name is Delaney Amelia Grimes, and I’m an actor, playwright, director, and senior at the Cambridge School of Weston (CSW). At CSW, seniors complete a Senior Capstone — a culminating project that reflects their passions and interests as they prepare for graduation.
I’m raising funds to complete mine!
For my Capstone, I’ll be directing and producing a staged production of my original, award-winning 10-minute play, 'Alphabet Soup'.
The play is a comedic exploration of adolescence and gender dynamics, following two teenagers as they attempt an unconventional form of self-administered couples therapy after tensions arise during an intimate moment.
My goal is:
- To bring my script to life for a live audience, and
- To fully step into the role of a working theatre artist, taking on every stage of the process — directing, casting, costume and props design, rehearsal scheduling, venue coordination, marketing, and (of course) budgeting.
In the early stages of this process, I’ve learned one very real lesson:
It costs money to make good theatre.
The funds raised will go toward:
- Paying the actors
- Securing a venue and rehearsal space
- Covering production materials (props, printing, etc.)
- Creating the final presentation and reception
With your support, I’ll be able to bring Alphabet Soup to life and graduate feeling even more prepared to step into the theatre industry — with hands-on experience and something I’m proud of.
Thank you so much for reading and supporting my work.
With love and sparkles,
Delaney Amelia Grimes
