Help Deiphago’s Voltaire After Passport Theft

The passports were returned to us by an elderly street vendor from Luneta Park. This woman said she stumbled upon the vest with two passports in the middle of a street in Malate at 3 a.m., while out to buy some spare cigarettes.

Along with the vest and passports were two of my rings (she said she had already given away three rings), and even my power bank, which someone had tried to pry open thinking it was a metal wallet, missing was my AirPods. She told us she found them just as they were—left behind.

We gave her a reward of $100 (₱5,000) and parted ways.

These past few days had been a difficult time for me and the band, and I wouldn't have survived this ordeal without the help of the people around me.

URGENT: Tour Disruption, Passport Stolen, Musician Stranded, Livelihood at Risk

After 6 powerful weeks touring across Asia, legendary extreme metal band Deiphago

was set to close their run with a final show in Japan. This tour was a manifestation of

everything we believe in: raw intensity, devotion to the underground, and connection

with fans across borders.

But on May 7, 2025, just after their set in Manila, Philippines, Voltaire’s vest —

containing his passports and vital documents — was stolen.

Despite all efforts — contacting the venue, police reports, embassy visits — the

passports are still missing. No one has come forward. Sidapa and Savnok had to

make the hard call to fly to Japan for them to not miss their flight going back to

Costa Rica while Voltaire missed his May 9 flight to Japan, and is now stranded in

the Philippines, without documents, without income, and far from home in Costa Rica.

⚠️ CURRENT SITUATION

Voltaire is now stuck in the Philippines for 2–3 weeks, waiting for an emergency

passport which would take a serious toll.

He’s missing work back in Costa Rica, incurring new daily costs, and facing a USD$2,000+

flight rebooking.
