Hi Friends & Family! —Good Samaritans— This is Chelsea Vivian, niece of Deidre Vivian, pictured above!

I desperately need to raise about $10,000 to help pay for my Aunt Deidre’s care at an assisted living facility until she finally receives money from her mother’s estate. Her costs are $2,500 more than she makes via social security.

I’m starting this Go Fund Me primarily on behalf of my Aunt DD, but also for myself as a totally burned out caregiver and family member. As many of you know, she has been struggling with symptoms of early age onset Alzheimer’s, which runs in our family, for over a decade. A couple of months ago “THE SHIT” hit the fan for me and she became too much for me to manage. Essentially, I had a nervous breakdown right as she passed into the severe stage which included wandering, enhanced moodiness, and delusional thinking. I was able to get EMERGENCY placement for her, but we are still 4-6 months from being complete with her mother’s estate …..in part because we only just FINALLY got a medical determination of complete incapacity, and this enabled us to move forward to the next step.

I worked closely with several agencies and social workers to find a memory care facility willing to work with our situation. They have given us a special rate, but still it is not enough as she only makes $1,900 in social security a month and has no savings. I have been covering her for the last couple of months since we first got her in, but I cannot cover her costs and have the money I need to move on with my own life right now at the same time!!! IT’s been impossible and I am begging for whatever help our friends and family can help provide.

As many of you know, some of the earliest signs went undetected by our family and started wreaking havoc in her life over decade ago. She mostly exhibited financial problems and some memory/mood issues. In 2016, she left her home in Colorado to care for her mother, my grandmother, with vascular dementia and stayed with her for several years not tending to her home/property. At the start of the pandemic is became clear she too had serious memory and cognitive deficit. I left my life and kept my business non-operational to care for them and have been doing so ever since FOR OVER THREE YEARS…… I have been unable to work and care for them at the same time. Unfortunately, DD’s neglect of her property led to the destruction of that house and it was deemed a total loss by the realtors we consulted with. Therefore, Deidre has no savings account and we ONLY have her social security at present to pay for her memory care.

My Grandmother passed away at the end of last year, and her estate does have money enough to cover Deidre’s needs for the rest of her life, however, because of the red tape I cannot access that money for another 6 months and I cannot manage her by myself anymore. Therefore, I’m reaching out to everyone we know for any kind of help whether it be a gift, a loan, prayers, passing along this Go Fund Me or sending good vibes.
