Help Deia get back on her feet after tragic loss of fiance
Donation protected
Michael Patrick (age 25) and Deia Neyra (age 24) were starting a new life in Missouri after setting out on their own from their home state of Florida. They had their marriage license and name change paperwork (Padaira) on file with the court and were awaiting their wedding day and had starting planning their future together. They had only been in their rental for a few months when Michael lost his job, followed by Deia losing hers weeks later. Amid these struggeles, they pressed on and had interviews lined up for other employement.
Tragically, Michael lost his life in a car crash on April 5th. The sudden and unexpected passing of her soon to be husband, has left Deia, obviously, grieving and alone in their rental home far away from family or a support system; however, for now, she is trying to remain there and move forward following their shared dream.
As per his wishes, Michael's body is expected to be cremated. It had been Deia's understanding that his extended family would allow her to handle the final affairs and collect his ashes, but those plans have changed. Since the wedding had not yet happened, due to being postponed because of their job losses, she is not legally next-of-kin, so his extended family is managing his end of life affairs and is supposed to share some of his ashes with her. She hopes to be able to raise enough funds to purchase a small urn for her home and/or an urn jewelry keepsake to keep some of his ashes with her in memorium. After that is taken care of, the rest of the funds raised will be for assistance for Deia to cover any costs to cover her transportation, food, housing, utilities, and such for about a month until she can get back on her feet with a new job after some grieving time has passed.
The minimum needed is about $3,000. If you would be able and willing to help, I know that she would be so grateful. Truly, ANY amount would help. Small donations from many contributers would add up quickly. Right now, she is in danger of losing her housing, having utilities cut off, and has only a little food to get through for herself and her ESA goldendoodle, Morrie, who is her only source of compionship and comfort during this time.
The car that was totaled had been their only mode of transportation between them which was only in Michael's name. If she could amass enough money for a used car as well, a moped or bike, or something that could cover another medthod of transportation to and from work and church, that would be a welcome bonus.
If you cannot contribute financially, please consider sharing this page so that others might contribute as they feel led. Sharing is so important! Every donation, even small amounts, will be of tremendous help to her right now. Of course, one way that you can help the most would be to please hold Deia in your prayers and lift her up as she proceeds into the days ahead. Thank you.
For context, I am Jem Medley, and am setting up this crowdfunding campaign in order to help Deia. She is not one to ask for handouts, but she and Michael have spent several years struggling financially and had no savings when they lost their jobs, and then Michael lost his life. My goal is to send her every cent that is raised as soon as possible to help her cover her personal costs during this berevement period to tide her over for a few weeks until things smooth out and she has steady work again. Unfortunately, neither she nor her far away friends and family have the funds to fully cover this ourselves.
