PLEASE HELP!
As many of you know, I lost my federally funded position in restorative justice work in January. I have been struggling to keep up with most of my bills, including medical (I fight Lyme disease.)
I am most likely going to be evicted due to lack of payment. I got advice from a few non-profits and they told me that we can ask for mediation and landlords often will not evict if the tenant agrees to move out and pay a percentage of what is owed. If evicted, it will ruin my credit for years and allow them to garnish my wages. My rent is 2100. I am working on moving out now but need help being able to have something to offer them so that they won’t win an eviction in court.
I have leaned on many of you for support since losing my sister and the pandemic. I often feel extremely embarrassed asking for help, but I don’t have family to lean on.
I am hoping to get close to 10,000. I owe 7 months rent. I have done everything I can think of to raise funds, including dog walking, selling lots of my things, selling my plasma, borrowing against my retirement and borrowing from friends.
I have a court date this Friday, Sept. 12th.
Please help and share. Thanks so much!
