Help Deena Continue with Lifesaving Chemotherapy

Hi, I am fundraising for my dear friend Deena Craig, because she no longer has any health insurance to cover chemotherapy. Deena has stage IV breast cancer. There is no cure but there is treatment to prolong and improve the quality of life. She has a high grade, aggressive, rapidly spreading cancer with Mets to her lungs, multiple ribs, pelvis, and right hip. She has been on chemotherapy for the past three months. Recently she received notice that her health insurance will be terminated on 03/31/22. She still has 3 more months of chemotherapy required at a cost of about $10,000 per month. Deena and her doctor are pleased that she has been responding well to chemotherapy. She needs her chemotherapy to continue or all progress may be lost. Her life may very well depend on it.

 

Here’s a little more about Deena. In her own words, “I am a Physician’s Assistant. I enlisted in the Army as a combat medic during Operation Desert Shield which became Operation Desert Storm. I wanted to go help. It’s why I did medical clinics in Guatemala during the height of guerilla warfare with a machine gun perimeter around the clinic and an armed Guatemalan soldier in the exam room with me. I stayed at night on their military base for protection. More recently, I have put on hazmat gear and have worked night and day testing people for Covid. And now, if I were able, I would be volunteering to help the refugees in Poland or within Ukraine. I can’t, so I try to keep up with those who are helping there and pray as much as possible. I wish I could do more.”

You can see, my friend Deena always wants to help others.  But now she needs OUR help.  Perhaps you know Deena from participating in one of her meetup groups, or maybe you served in the military, or maybe you have traveled the world with her, or maybe you don’t know her very much at all, but I can assure you she is a wonderful person and she really needs this help now.
