Help DeeAnna After Josh's Sudden Loss

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Joshua Solomon, age 27, on August 7, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona.

Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Josh lived a life full of drive, kindness, and dedication to helping others. A gifted athlete and scholar, Josh was a state champion wrestler in both Oklahoma and California. He graduated from St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, California, where he excelled in football and wrestling and was honored as the Top Academic Athlete for four consecutive years. He was recruited to wrestle for Oklahoma State University—the most successful major college athletic team in history regardless of sport—and later graduated with honors from Arizona State University.

At the time of his passing, Josh was pursuing his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Northern Arizona University and working as a Physical Therapy Technician at HonorHealth’s Shea Medical Center—a position he loved for more than two years. His compassion and skill were especially evident in his work with stroke patients, helping them regain mobility and hope. Always eager to stay active, Josh also enjoyed meeting people as a driver for Uber.

Josh’s greatest joy was his fiancée, DeeAnna Egan, the love of his life. On his birthday, July 3, he had just asked her father for her hand in marriage.

Josh is survived by his loving parents, Brenda Solomon and Michael Solomon; his fiancée, DeeAnna Egan; brothers Michael Solomon (wife Kaylee and their soon-to-arrive son) and Mark Allen (wife Sarah and their children Autumn and Ace); and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Josh will be remembered for his determination, generosity, and the way he inspired others to live with purpose and compassion.

Pallbearers will be: Godfather Dr. Bobby Ogdee, brothers Mark Allen and Michael Solomon; friends Miguel Avila, Danny Salas, Jake Bjazevich, Trevor Brucelas; cousins Alec Shamas and Ellis Shamas; and his fiancée’s father, Jamie Egan.
