I have been in an abusive relationship for the last year and like many others in abusive relationships it became “normal” to have my ex-partner yell, throw, and physically shove me. I could go on in great length detailing all the ways my abuser hurt me emotionally and verbally but what matters now is that earlier this week I decided to end the relationship and step away for good. 

Something in me clicked and I realized no matter how challenging this would be emotionally and what a burden it would be financially that I have the right to a safe living environment, to love that is not violent or detrimental to my spirit, soul, and being.

I am financially tied to this person and making the decision to reach out for help has been very challenging, but I need all the help I can get to get myself into a safe and healthy environment. 

I am a ph.d student and currently do not have a job aside from this so I am financially restricted. As of now my rent is paid until December 1st and I have been granted university housing starting Nov.15th. I need money to pay them back for a computer they bought me; money for the rest of utilities and to secure my next housing situation.  Here is the break up of money I am asking for 


$1,300– Mac computer she bought for me

$2,000– Security deposit and moving expenses into new housing 

$300– Utilities and bills
