Help Dee Dee Fight Cancer and Reclaim Her Life
In January 2024, Linda Denise “Dee Dee” Christian received life-changing news: she was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). While CML is considered treatable with targeted TKI chemotherapy, Dee Dee's journey has been anything but typical. After enduring six different kinds of TKI treatments—none of which succeeded—she faced the sobering truth that her cancer was resistant to the standard options. She now is undergoing a stem cell transplant.
Despite this, Dee Dee’s spirit remained unshaken.
I met Dee Dee when she joined our company, and from the moment we spoke, I knew she was someone special. Her warmth, kindness, and eternally positive attitude instantly made her a bright light in our world. Even while battling an aggressive illness, she worked as long as she could—right up until just 10 days before she was admitted to Banner Hospital for intensive treatment.
In a powerful act of medical and human generosity, Dee Dee underwent a stem cell transplant, receiving cells from a 35-year-old man in Germany who was a rare 10 out of 10 match. This selfless stranger gave Dee Dee a second chance—one rooted in hope, science, and the human spirit. To prepare, Dee Dee endured aggressive chemotherapy that essentially wiped out her DNA to make room for the new stem cells. It was her only hope.
She is now in recovery—bravely enduring the ups and downs of stem cell therapy and fighting every day to heal. Though she is currently only feeling about 50% of her normal self, she still manages to stay upbeat and grateful. She will remain hospitalized for 30 years Our phone calls are filled with laughter, honesty, and the occasional tears when the weight of it all gets heavy. Even on the hardest days, she continues to inspire everyone around her.
Dee Dee has been incredibly strong, but the financial strain has been enormous. Medical bills, lost income, ongoing care, and travel costs are piling up for her and her family. She’s not the type to ask for help, so I’m doing it for her—because she deserves it.
Six months ago, Dee Dee was a complete stranger to me. Now, I can’t imagine my life without her in it. I believe there are others out there—people she may never meet—who would be moved by her courage, kindness, and resilience.
If you’ve ever had someone in your life face cancer… if you believe in the power of strangers helping strangers… or if you just want to be part of a beautiful story of human compassion—please consider donating.
