We know Dee Dee as an amazing international square dance caller and line dance instructor. So many of us have danced to the wonderful calling of Dee Dee Dougherty-Lottie for many years. Those that know Dee Dee, know the love of her life, Bob Lottie.
Bob is the incredible force behind the scenes supporting and managing their personal life and everything Dee Dee needs and does for the dance community. We want to make sure he can get the care he urgently needs through this challenging time.
The Story
In early November, Bob was feeling very ill and Bob and Dee Dee went to the emergency room. He struggled through many days of testing and trying to determine the cause of his worsening condition. When they finally discovered that his gall bladder was the cause, it was almost too late. During emergency surgery, massive bleeding began, and he was not expected to make it. In this fragile condition, he was airlifted to a special trauma hospital across the city to save him.
After many days in a coma, and to the surprise of his doctors, he began to wake up. Bob has a long way to go to recovery and has just been admitted back to the hospital with some complications. It will be a long time to get back to some normalcy.
The Costs
As he works to recover, there are mounting expenses that they need help with handling. Not only will there be extensive trauma medical costs, but the pandemic has drastically impacted Dee Dee and Bob’s dance leader activities and income. Dee Dee and Bob are very special members of our dance community and need our help during this critical time. This is our opportunity to give back to them. All funds will go directly to cover hospital/trauma expenses and provide some financial stability as Bob recovers.
