Dee Cameron to kick cancers ass
Donation protected
My sister Dee's journey with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia began back in 2012 with flu like symptoms. Dee went to the doctor on the Wednesday and the doctor rang Thursday with the news and on the Monday Dee started Chemo 23 hours a day 7 days a week.
Not only was Dee fighting blood cancer, the medication triggered bipolar episodes. Fighting 2 battles while still remaining positive. Treatment was going well and after 6 months Dee was in full remission without needing a transplant.
While Dee was in hospital, not once did I hear her complain. All she cared about was her family and how we were all coping.
It's not been an easy battle and while in full remission, not once did she ever think it could or would come back.
After almost 4 years since remission, flu like symptoms appeared 3 weeks ago while flying to Sydney to do what she loves doing the most........photography. A passion Dee has had since age 10 when she received her first life saver camera. Still not thinking anything except she had the flu, Dee was too tired to do the photography job on the Sunday and flew back to Ballina on the Monday and straight to the hospital. First results showed Pneumonia and was given medication and sent home. It wasn't long before the doctor rang Dee and told her to go to Lismore hospital straight away. Her bloods were very low.
Two nights in Lismore and Dee was flown in a private Jet to RPA hospital in Sydney. Dee always believed she would be a star but this jet ride was the ride of her life.
This treatment is different as it's the second time round. Chemo is more intense and unfortunately the Bipolar has been triggered again.
The positive attitude keeps Dee in high spirits as well as everyone around her. "Don't worry about me" she says. "I worry about my Prince Harry" (her boyfriend). Harry has taken time off work indefinitely to support Dee. While still paying rent for their house in Ballina and their fur baby Jack who is staying with a friend.
Once Dee is in full remission, she will have a bone marrow transplant with the help of a successful doner. Hopefully our other sister Denise.
My aim to set up a gofundme page is to help the costs for Dee and Harry to keep paying for their rent and general bills as well as accommodation for Harry while in Sydney supporting his Princess Dee. My sister is also selling her photography to be able to have Harry by her side and not have to work while there. Supporting Dee in every way is important to Harry.
There will be an exhibition and auction held in Dee's honour to raise funds but not for several months as Dee wants to be well enough to rock it at her own party.
My sister has always believed she was a princess and would be famous one day and although this may not get her the fame she was after and maybe not on the cover of the Rolling Stones, it will allow Dee to focus on what's most important, kicking cancers ass. Thank you in advance to everyone who donates. I know this will mean the world to my beautiful sister Dee ❤️
