Help Dede Stafford Rebuild After Tragic Flood

Hi, I’m Rachel. I am a Fairview, NC native.

On September 27th, 2024, we had a tragic flood in Western NC. The flood took many lives and homes.

My sweet neighbors, Dede Stafford and her sons, William and James, lost their home, truck, and all belongings as our little creek turned into a rushing river.

Dede’s husband, Steve Stafford, was a public servant (Haywood County paramedic) who died unexpectedly one year ago. Dede and Steve had been married for 23 years. Dede spent many years as a public servant working as an ER nurse.

It has been a hard year for Dede and her sons. The one item we were able to recover from Dede’s home was the flag that was used to cover Steve’s casket.
