This fundraiser is to help my father, affectionately known as “Deddy,” who has touched many hearts through Peggy Sue’s social media page, SweetHomeBama. Together with my mom, Brenda, Deddy has shared countless moments of laughter, love, and family life with our followers. Their spunky conversations and genuine affection have gone viral many times, bringing joy to people from all walks of life.
In September 2025, our family faced a heartbreaking loss when we lost “Mama” suddenly to cancer and pneumonia. After 48 years together, Deddy is now navigating life without his beloved partner. The house they shared has become uninhabitable, and Deddy wishes to relocate to a family lot where he can build a small barn to call home. This dream is especially meaningful to him—years ago, he built his perfect barn himself, only to lose it in a tragedy. Now, as he grieves and heals from a recent spinal injury, his greatest wish is to build another barn where he can find peace and comfort.
Deddy has been a skilled roofer for over 50 years and has always put his family and others first. While he has many friends and family ready to help, he will need support for building materials, utilities, plumbing, and some assistance due to his injury. As his daughter, I want to help make his dream a reality. We plan to document the process on social media and YouTube, sharing Deddy’s journey with our community.
