I am Declan, a 23 year old transgender male. I am raising money to afford my gender-affirming surgery. This surgery is something myself, my team of doctors, and my therapists know that I need in order to live a life that correctly matches with who I am, how I present, and who I identify as. I came out as Declan in 2016 and started hormone replacement therapy in July of 2021. Since, I have built an amazing foundation upon knowing who I truly am and living the life that I have as myself. I had an initial consultation in 2020 and discovered that my insurance will not help cover surgery expenses. My Surgeon is Dr. Assi, who I visited for a second surgery consultation in 2023. The consultation went great as expected and I am cleared for surgery once the funds are obtained. This is a crucial surgery that will change the way I’m able to live my day-to-day life as comfortable as possible. My surgery has a total estimated cost of $9,500 which also covers post op check ups with my doctor and all other surgical expenses.
