DEBY’S (AMIRA’S) STORY

 

My longtime friend, Deby, was originally diagnosed with breast cancer in 1998 with a small mass that was operable. August 2021 she was again diagnosed, this time with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma HERS 2+ Estrogen+ (Stage 3 breast cancer) in her left breast.

 

She was scheduled for surgery October 2021. During her preoperational exam the doctors concluded that her cancer was spreading too fast to perform the surgery to remove the mass. The doctors recommended six rounds of Chemotherapy treatments every three weeks for five months to shrink the mass before performing surgery.

Deby has just completed her fourth chemo treatment and is now facing the difficult decision of whether a double mastectomy is the safest option to prevent the breast cancer from returning.

 

Even though Deby is feeling drained physically and mentally from the chemo treatments she manages to put a smile on her face and find the strength and will power to go to work part time. She is an unbelievable strong and independent person. She just needs some help during unfortunate tough times. Her employers are extremely understanding, small business owners that support her in every way and are holding her job for her until she well enough to work full time.

All funds raised will go to Debys living expenses.
