My Wheelchair Was Stolen—So Was My Independence
I am Debra Moore, a quadriplegic with an incomplete spinal cord injury caused by a gunshot wound from a stalker. Despite the challenges, I have worked hard to rebuild my life and become a home-based alternative practitioner. On July 19, 2026, after returning from a wonderful family gathering, I discovered that my home had been burglarized. My wheelchair, television, emergency money, clothing, and other belongings were stolen.

My wheelchair is essential to my mobility, independence, personal hygiene, and ability to attend medical appointments. Without it, I feel trapped, as though someone has stolen my legs. I am asking for help to replace my wheelchair first, as well as assistance with a television, groceries, and paratransit transportation. Your support will help me regain my independence and continue my journey toward healing and self-sufficiency.
